Yes I too had bugs when I made elderflower cordial last week but just shook them out over the sink,did my thing and strained through muslin and it tasted fine and I froze half my cordial in ice cube trays as it goes off after a few weeks and I hate waste!!

what a great idea!

I feel a bit mean now only giving my little girl 3 pots and putting the sunflower in the patch(under rabit protection).She has a pot for carrots,one for strawberries and one for tomatoes and says she will eat all her own produce so a few more pots next year I think with,broccoli,parsnips,cauliflower...

never mind pidgeons,it's catapillars here.

Little blighters munched their way through all my brassicas last year so I contructed a tunnel today out of roll of 5" square mesh we had here when we moved in and covered the whole lot with fleece and fingers crossed it will do the trick but any suggestions on the mouse in my patch eating seed...
