Re: Purple Sprouting Broccoli

What variety is that? Mine is the bog standard stuff and is probably a couple of months off being ready yet!

Re: A short questionnaire on foraging for my dissertation

Done although I found the final section on what I do with the foraged products a bit confusing - one option was food and another was food other? Anyway, hope it's OK :)

Re: Out of date tins

I actually finished my tin of black treacle when I made Christmas cakes last October - remember it had a date of 1998 on it so was probably about time for a change :). Will buy new later this year when I need it again.

Re: moon cup still fits

I'm still using the small sized one almost 15 years past my sell by date for it :). They are sooooo fab and I'm sure more people would use them if they didn't get so squeamish about bodily fluids.

Re: Competitive gardening for a TV show

Who defines the perfect carrot anyway? The supermarkets would have you to believe that its one that's perfectly straight of uniform length etc where as people that grow to eat (rather than the bizarre world of showing which doesn't seem to have anything to do with food to me) know that it's a taste ...

Re: Horse Burgers anyone?

Like somebody further up this thread has said, I don't really have any problems with eating any times of meat (I find it slighly hypocritical to be selective about it based on cuteness etc) but have a major problem with the lack of traceability here. We should know exactly what we are buying and fro...

Re: Lost dogs, tags and microchips

Our cats were both chipped as kittens and after the initial payment we don't have to pay anything unless we want to change the details. Certainly no yearly payment.

Re: Old VHSs

Looking at them they're mostly not my cup of tea at all - loads of scifi and shoot them up films but there you go. I just want to clear out and don't want them going to land fill.

Old VHSs

Am trying to clear our loft and OH has what looks like a million old VHS tapes up there which we can't play. Goodness knows why he bought them all (before me :)) but that's another story. Anyway, any ideas what we can do with them? I've asked a few charity shops and they tell me that there is no cal...

Re: Raw food diet. Healthier or not?

Not only is the adding of fluoride to our water state medication without permission, it's also a total waste of money. Costs quite a lot of money and considering most of our water is simply flushed down the drain, used for washing etc very little of it has any benefit. Fluoride in toothpaste is topi...

Re: Men and Money!!!

I work with a woman who earns about a fifth of the amount brought home by her husband. They have a 50/50 rule in their household. This means that she can't afford to go on holiday as all her money is used up trying to pay half the bills. He goes on holiday several times each year with friends while ...

Re: safe alternitives to harmful beautie products

I don't particularly have a problem with fluoride toothpaste although I chose not to use it and despite being in my 40s I have no fillings and my dentist only wants to see me once a year as my teeth are good and strong. I am however very anti forced intake of drugs which is the case in areas where t...

Re: Men and Money!!!

I wouldn't live with somebody who I didn't trust with money (or anything else). We both earn (him more than me) and all that money is paid into a joint account and belongs to both of us rather than the person who earned it. To me that is fair and is an essential part of a partnership. General bills ...

Re: Moon Pads

Moon cups are defo the way to go - really fab things, have been using mine for about 10 years now and it'll last me a few more years until I don't need it anymore. Not sure what to do with it then though - not really something you can give to the charity shop :D
