Re: rats in the chicken coop

You could look at getting different pellets.

I have some which are well hollow point tips, they kill well. Not sure why. It says it on the tin too.

I also agree, don't leave food out,= no rats in run.

Re: Old dogs........

No need for sorry.

Its just that I find the paper horrible. It propagates opinion as fact, half truths and urban legends as popularity propaganda and is singularly responsible for the ill informed opinions of the masses.

Re: Pocket knives

This is a bit Daily Mail now isn't it? 1. If your gardening, or going gardening and you have a knife, no one cares. You get it out and start intimidating people, they might. 2. Your man was trespassing, burglarizing, being naughty, he shouldn't have had a knife. 3. You need clear laws to stop "...

Re: Japanese Knotweed - a growing problem

We get it here along the River bank. The Cornish spray it with Glysophate some years, the Devonians arn't that bothered with it, they both hate Giant Hogweed, which are sprayed yearly and neither care about Himalayan Balasam. I can see a Big Stand of JK out my window now, Devon side, the top 4 foot ...

Re: comfrey in ground or pot?

My little tip, plant it around your compost heap, acts as a bit of a screen, cut and chuck on top, plus it thrives, and looks pretty. Also even the bocking one you can propagate from root cuttings. I have allot of it planted as part of forest garden, I use it along "borders" where I am try...

Re: Preserving fruit juice

It is normal yes.

You cork should hold the vacuum

I bottled juice in glass bottles with brand new screw caps, pasteurized and they still went mouldy. You could try Jam jars as well? ( once hot filled and capped, put in simmering sauce pan for 40 minutes)
