Re: How many chickens?

Years ago I kept cockatiels, the aviary was outside and was 12 foot long and four foot deep, I know because the shed was 12 foot. I had quails in bottom, I had no more than 6 and 12 at any one time, it worked fine.

Re: Drawing a UK state pension from abroad

203 Euro, wow! I could live like a king on that here. I am now trying to find out if insurance and pension payments made in a country other than the UK would count towards a pension should that person move back to the UK before retirement age.

Re: Drawing a UK state pension from abroad

Just had a look at that link from marshland, a very good link, tells you all about what you will get by way of an easy online calculator, turns out that I have paid just a couple of years over the 30 years required. Apparently they don’t not take into account any contributions before the age of 19, ...

Re: Drawing a UK state pension from abroad

The UK government changed the goalposts a while back, you now only need 30 years worth of stamps/contributions for a full pension. If you don't have enough contributions you get paid pro rata. The pension can be paid in most countries I believe and certainly in all EU countries and commonwealth cou...

Drawing a UK state pension from abroad

Does anybody know anything about drawing a state pension from abroad? I was talking to a chap that has lived here for a couple of years. He tells me he receives a state pension from the UK, almost a hundred pounds per week. He tells me that he has paid in less than half of the stamps or whatever to ...

Re: 39 steps to a better life

I can speak Macedonian, a little serbian, a little less bulgerian and a little less greek. In that order. Well, i speak English first too. Does that count? I can probably ask "can you help me please" in most of them. English: Can you help me please? Macedonian: Mozi da mi pomogne te molam? Serbian:...

Re: Fight obesity like tobacco

This is a link to an article on the Bulgarian news. When I moved here in 2004 it was a totally different story, but now, we are all free Europeans. Just like free Americans, all being really sensible with the lives we create. http://www.novinite.com/view_news.php?id=135917

Re: How many chickens?

Yes, I would agree with oldjerry looking at it, if space is an issue it is probally better not to mix. I have about a quarter acre for the chickens, so mixing does not seem to be an issue.

Re: Fight obesity like tobacco

I don’t know about other places, but where I live there is absolutely no state intervention of that sort. Not a penny of public money is spent on visiting parents that are abusing their children as a result of their own ineptness or otherwise. No, just like everywhere else, people are free to stuff ...

Re: How many chickens?

Should not be a problem with the quails and chickens together. I planted a number of trees in the chicken quarter when we started, mainly for shade, no problem, they did not even peck them when they were young, but it might be an idea to protect the bottoms for a couple of years. In the UK, I would ...

Re: Hello from france

Well if it is any consolation, we have been raising our own broiler chickens in two batches a year for the past six years, and it is my partners mum that has been doing the deed. I have been plucking cleaning ect. This year however, (since she is not getting any younger) I got it together and despat...
