Re: Ice, ice and more ice

Don't salt it =(. Bad for the environment and everything made of metal (like cars).

Sand it instead! Don't try to remove it, don't fight it, just adapt ;-).

Some herbs/trees that can be useful for yourself and you pets prefer or can cope with shade, such as ladys mantle (one of my favorites, so pretty), mint, melissa, oregano, elderflower...

Re: what other boards do you read and think helpful

Huge swedish one called Alternativ.nu, it has 23 000 members and there are usually 60-100 online at all times. It is better divided than this forum I think, by necessity, since it is so huge.

Re: keep pet fish properly (alive!)

It is true that it is an invasive species... How could I forget that. But the reason it is invasive is because it is such a survivor.. so it still is a good beginnerplant (disregarding horrible ecological impacts). So look for other fastgrowing plants instead. Vallisneria (long "grasses") are very e...

Re: Natural remedies for painful wees....?

I had problems with UTI (got the same as your son, kidney-infection) and I don't want to eat antibiotics every other month. But cranberry juice helps suuuper! You only need two things to avoid UTI: 1. Keep your bum warm (never sit on cold benches!) 2. As soon as it starts hurting, drink 2dl of cranb...

Re: keep pet fish properly (alive!)

I think guppies are great beginner fish. The males look great. Guppies reproduce quickly and are very hardy. You have a very small tank so you should definitely not have goldfish (they eat a lot and produce a lot of waste). Guppies, platys, or a single male fighting fish (Beta Splendens) are the bes...

I love my cup =)!

Another tip for public loos without sinks is pee on it! Your own pee is pretty sterile and not at all dangerous to use for cleaning it.

Re: Psycho Killer .... Qu'est-ce que c'est ?.........

I hitchhiked around Europe for 3 months =). My friend Erii continued doing it for more than a year =). I do it occasionally in Sweden when I'm tired of waiting for the bus. There are also good carpool sites. I pick up hitchhikers myself everytime I have space in the car. This website is GREAT if you...

Re: Rhubarb wine help

Rhubarb "kräm" (eh, not jelly, not jam, you eat it in a bowl with milk) is the best and easiest way to eat rhubarb (short of just plucking one, dipping in sugar and eating). Boil peeled, sliced rhubarb with sugar (or honey) for some time. It will become thick and goey and lovely! Eat with milk or ev...

Re: Small village rumours

Kind of weird in my eyes, people blaming others for being drugdealers? Is it a common "problem" in your area? Talk to your friend/"friend" and ask them if it's true and if it isn't, you can have a good time trying to figure out why somebody is spreading that kind of rumours =). And on a different pe...
