Re: Strawberry advice please

Thanks Digger but I am still baffled. The plants are all located in the same place in similar pots so I would rule out disease or non pollination (the bees are busy in my garden  )
Seaside girl - Yes I shall keep tabs on which fruit and which don't.

No dogs here. No flowers on the non-fruiting plants either.

Strawberry advice please

I have strawberry plants growing. Some are fruiting, some are not. The original plants came from two different places but I don't know which plants are which. I did snip the runners off the plants a while ago as they appeared but this doesn't seem to have had any bearing on whether they have fruited...

Re: Solstice Blessings

No one complained and I don't think there was a wicker man (at least not whilst I was there). The fire is a yearly event. It's not a state school so I guess if you don't like it you don't send your kids there.

Re: Solstice Blessings

Happy Solstice to you too. My youngest son went to Kindergarten today (he doesn't usually do Fridays) and saw the big school children light a fire in the middle of the school field amidst much drumming and singing. Later when the littlest children has gone back to their kindergartens and the fire ha...

Hello Leanne

It is scary how time flies without you noticing it. I am a newbie compared to you - only about 3 years on here but not a prolific poster. My ish needs polishing I think but my procrastionation is thriving! I love to see and hear what others get up to to inspire me.

Re: Beetroot cake recipe?

Made the beetroot cake yesterday - in fact I made two as I have two 1lb loaf tins but not a 2lb one. Son2 refused to try it (what a shame  ). Beetroot hating son3 and teenage guest (vegetable hater) managed two slices each. I have the second cake left which will be todays pudding. The recipe is...

Re: 33p-50p per person Meals

It is certainly an interesting piece of work but I don't fancy the meal plans myself. One thing it doesn't take into account is bargains. I love a bargain and stock my freezer when I see them. Recently got 3lb of turkey breast mince for 30p. That would certainly go a long way for one person.

Re: Calender Girls WI Calander for 2014

I have knitted a bag with strips of old clothes. My niece suggested adding old cassette tape to add 'sparkle' to the knit or you could knit/crochet completely with cassette tape. I have also seen a top made entirely of ring pulls - think chain mail. I am sure with some time and imagination you could...

Re: Spraying cat

Could another cat have got in the house? I had an intruder through the cat flap and my tomcat was not impressed. My stair carpet did not smell good at all after he flew down the stairs in pursuit.
