Re: Ok it's a while since i was asked to put this on...
I'm ashamed to confess I've given up for the time being. I thought I had researched thoroughly and bought carefully before DS was born, as I knew I wouldn't have time afterwards, but he was so big he was out of his newborn naps within 8 weeks, then was in his one-size on the folded-down setting and ...

A very useful post, thank you, as I have the blurb sitting on my desk and haven't done anything with it yet...

Think I'll give it a whirl on DS' rash on his arm - he's 3 months old, I hasten to add!

Re: Hypnobirthing
It seems that you have to put in quite a lot of work during pregnancy for it to really work, and I left it too late. Reading up on it did though make me realise how much the mother's state of mind affects labour, and I went through 17 hours with nothing more than TENS, which I realised once it came ...

Re: Ear Piercing
I had mine done with a needle when I was 8. The guy sprayed them with anaesthetic first and I never had any problems. DD is 6 and I wouldn't agree to it just yet, but 8 strikes me as old enough to participate in the decision and have a hand in looking after them. To this day a whiff of surgical spir...

Re: Ok it's a while since i was asked to put this on...
I was going to suggest leaving them already folded as well, but there's something about OHs. My DH is absolutely in favour of cloth and tells me that even taking into account the cost of washing them they're cheaper than disps, but even so, if he changes DS you can guarantee he'll put him in a disp....

Very interesting about the detergent as I've noticed my washing machine full of suds when I wash the naps even though I use half dose at maximum and do an extra rinse (not very eco-friendly). In fact I've come to the conclusion that there's not a lot to call between disps and cloth when everything's...

The experimenting is a pain. Having just taken a colossal drop in income I won't be buying any more naps!

We have the digging into thighs issue too, and DS gets welt round his tum. Not sure which wraps would be leakproof but soft?

Re: Ok it's a while since i was asked to put this on...
I must confess that with three other children and a no kitchen roll/tissues/other disposable paper products culture I have so much laundry that I prefer to have shedloads of nappies and not have to turn them around within a short time. When the DDs are really no longer going to stretch round Max I'l...

Re: finally
Congratulations - a bit belated. Hope the sleepless nights are now just not-much-sleep nights. My Max was 10lbs 4oz, born 30th Dec, and now at 7 1/2 weeks weighs 15 lbs! Our nights are variable, but not helped atm by a cough and cold. I must post some photos. Yours are gorgeous :)

Hello, long time no post! Baby Max is in cloth in the daytime, some Diddy Diapers and some MEOS, with ME AirFlow wraps. However good the advice you get there's always going to be an element of trial and error when your baby arrives as they're all different. Max is so enormous that the DDs are alread...

Re: And then there were six
Thanks everyone. Slowly getting the hang of this baby lark again. Having such a hungry baby is exhausting but we seem to be striking a better balance between his tum and my boobs in the last couple of days. Children go back to school tomorrow so there will be a bit of routine again, for everyone els...

Hi,
Just to let you all know Max arrived at 2am December 30th, by c-section after 17 hours labour. He's gorgeous, huge - 10lbs 4oz - and very hungry. Lots of dark hair just like his big sister. Will try to upload a photo but don't have enough functioning brain cells to do it right now!

Re: But WHY shouldn't I ...
Basically don't let it sit around at room temperature once it's been cooked as the bacteria can grown and won't be destroyed by cooking. Cool quickly and eat the next day. Just to second that: if you know you've cooked extra rice to freeze or chill, after serving the rice you want to use hot, run c...
