The only time I have pheasant is when we come across a fresh road kill. We slow cook it in finely chopped shallots or onions, some thinly sliced carrot, red wine (it's the law in my book!) and a couple of bacon strips laid across the breast. Served up with mash potato to soak up the gravy and someth...

I have been out to gather lemons and ginger root this morning. No not foraging, (as if ,in this weather!) but now I have a bin with all the ingredients 'ackling' away. Can't wait, it smells fantastic. :drunken:

I've made some dried orange slices yesterday. Stuck them in slow cook oven for the day and they are now finishing off on top of the fridge. They look quite good, but I used my organic oranges which were quite small to start with. Soooo, they are a bit of the small side. I also did some oranges with ...

We got woken up twice with the rain lashing against the window. It sounded as if there was a fire hose being sprayed up against it. Bits of wood blown off the shed roof, narrowly missing the greenhouse. Phew! Montys pedal tractor was blown across the garden and it's quite a heavy one. Still pretty g...

I wonder if you could get away with using those pet balls with those soft spikes on? LOL would be a bit cheaper than a tenner!

I used to use a tennis ball for drying my puffer jacket in the tumble drier. It's supposed to stop the feathers from bunching up in one big ball inside the lining.
