Okay I did take a bit of everybodies advice and now have thick strong stemmed Rhubarb that tastes wonderful.
My dear old dad will be here in a week and a half for my wedding and he will be delighted with his child hood favorite. Stewed Rhubarb and fresh made custard. Thanks all :flower:

Yes Flower it is fun to have a Blog and I to love to speak to other people and find out how things are in their country. Swapping ideas ect to me is what it is all about I think thats why I love this site so much.

So the more visitors to my Blog the more I am motivated to write good stuff :flower: .

I have lots of homegrown homedried chillies. I make chilli powder out of them with a coffee bean grinder and sprinkle it in my Bolognase or anything I want a bit of extra spice in. I found with the Mandarin Cordial to add a lot more Mandarin than the recipe states I also throw in a couple of oranges juice them and then throw the skin and all in when cooking and gives the cordial a great taste

Fee my son wants a pet rat I said only if they are Black ones a lady at the markets on Sunday was trying to sell baby bush rats as domestic ones. How silly does she think we are. Anyway I am lead to believe that rats don't have a very long life span could you enlighten me on this Thankyou in advance.

I use it in my nesting boxes half shredded paper and half sugar cane mulch then it goes into the open compost heap. Some goes in the compost tumbler and some for the worms. At the moment it is also bedding for my new chicks. So there is plenty of uses for it here

Fee sorry for the delay in getting you the recipes. Here they are: Mandarin Jam (about 3 jars) 8 mandarins 1kg sugar 3 cups water Wipe mandarins with a damp cloth, cut them in half horizontally then in half again. Back again

Oh it seems like ages since I was here. Let me see I have aquired myself 2 goats and today I got 4 1day old Balck Austrolorp chickens they have already been sexed and they are hens.

I have also set up a blog (PLEASE come visit me) as well so it's been busy

Thanks Bonnie I will try that later. Yes they are wll under my skin now those sweet little faces and the little nibbles I get when I am up there feeding them I have always loved animals around me. The greatest therapy I know is the companion ship of animals :flower:

That could be a factor Thomzo. I know Wombats grow well here in Australia as well but he is in a different climate to me but has long hot summers as well. :flower:
