I did ask my neighbour to take a before - and hope to get an "after" pic after we cut the grass (guess what I'm doing after this mail!!) and before the bank holiday rain
We love it now - simple but so satisfying.

Memory garden... not really a Q

Wasn't sure where to share this - hello have been busy revising and gardening sorry, must catch up more often. 1st project : Anyway - I was fed up of a bit of tatty grass verge on the end of our road, so I typed up flyers and asked everyone to join in making it into a garden. A few of us have lost l...

Covering a privet hedge

I hate privet but can't get rid of the hedge that edges my grass. I have noticed that the little slope of grass into it would be ideal rhubarb and veg plot - slowly stealing the lawn! BUT Can I grow peas and beans over privet, or would it be impossible to pick the things afterwards? Should ...

I need them as cheap as possible and am extremely lucky to have access to a few holly trees (yes I'll leave lots of berries for the birds etc) Will prun...

next year maybe......

I lost my dad earlier this year, and planted two dwarf apple trees in his memory. They have a wind chime in so he can let me know he's there when he feels like it. Makes me smile when I hear him! Anyway - they even gave me fruit which I didn't expect this year, only half a dozen but tasted lovely Co...

ok then..........

I was going to use tyres next year in my small garden and they don't look too offensive for the neighbours (keep em sweet you never know when you may need them)

If I can't use them what do I use? Any ideas?

And no I can't afford chimney pots as they are still highly desirable

Have found a gorgeous recipe - dead easy - soften rhubarb with a bit of sugar - fold it into custard and put in the f...
