Re: Something on parsley

RIMG0001.JPG RIMG0007.JPG Something very much like that, but I always thought mealy bugs were more scale-like and more fuzzy, whereas these have a longer fur. Underneath it's a plain light brown colour and they move at a good pace. I've never noticed them before so why have they suddenly appeared o...

Something on parsley

I can see some very small, oval, white, hairy caterpillar type things on my outdoor potted parsley plant. Can anyone tell me what they could be? I don't recall ever having seen them before.

Google

I've double-clicked my usual icon to get on to Firefox Google search homepage, as I have done for so long, but msn.com opened up - does anyone know what has happened?

Mascara

I've just got home having bought a M&S mascara that was reduced to £1. On trying it, I found it to be bone dry. What can I add to make it useable. The lipstick that was reduced to 75p was perfect.

Re: DIY breeze blocks

I want to make an enclosure as a slightly raised bed and use the holes to pot flowers in. I thought I might use a large plastic tub of some sort and put a couple of boxes or jars in to make the holes, put the concrete in and tip the form out and leave it to dry. A 20kg bag of concrete mix is only si...

DIY breeze blocks

I'd like to make some hollow concrete breeze blocks, the ones with the two square holes in. Is there an easy way to produce a mould that doesn't require cutting wood, etc? They won't be for building work.

Chef's blow torch would be good for pork hairs.

Re: Kitchen scraps in compost bins

Perhaps to them, kitchen scraps means any leftovers, raw or cooked, including non-vegetable ones, egg shells and other bits of food of any sort. I would call the specifically vegetable stuff vegetable trimmings.

Twiggy compost heap

I put a lot of prunings from fruit shrubs in addition to vegetable trimmings in the compost heap. Someone told me the other day that it would take a couple of years to compost down - is that right? If so, what can I do to speed it up? There's also a bit of soil in there.

Re: talktalk

I gave up on it. I registered an email, tried to log into it, only to be taken to an aol page saying something about wrong details. I've found something else, but, as a talktalk customer, it would have been nice to have an email address of their's.

Biscuit barrels

I'm looking for a sturdy, not thin metal, biscuit barrel, preferably with a dehumidifier in the lid. So far, I've only come across the Brabantia one. Is it any good or do any of you know of another brand that sells something durable and effective?

Avon question

Someone has given me an Avon catalogue. It doesn't have the same prices as online. The website shows some discounts. Can I get the online price if I order from the catalogue (Avon Lady)?

Does it have to be the Cambridge strawberry or will any other one do?
