Re: What do you heat your home with and what does it cost??

I heat my home with natural gas and it runs a bit over 200 USD in the winter. When we get moved to the country (not soon enough) I am planning on using passive solar and a rocket stove. If that is a new term for you then get over to YoutTube. You will enjoy learning something new that can save you a...

Re: Knock..Knock..whose there?....Armageddon.......

I don't know if it is as much doom and gloom as it is facing reality. I am sure there were plenty of Mayans that thought things were going to work out, the same for the Romans and history is replete with other examples. I'm sorry, I am not intending to stir the pot in any way, I'm just of the mind t...

Re: Any Ishy Bloggers out there?

I publish the Organic Gardening Blog. You can Google for it.... or cheat and use the link! http://www.organic-gardening-for-life.com/organic-blog.html It is not really designed to be a income generator so it is not an "ish" site in that regards. I built it with the idea to help and encoura...

Re: Ummm,...Hello?

Yea, mate! They've treated this "yank" just fine here! LOL! Hello from Tennessee! I think for those who are of the "ish" gene are always going to get along just fine no matter where we are from. I just pity the rest! LOL! However in all honesty my family line goes back to the 150...

Re: Greeting from Memphis, TN

Looking back at earlier posts from the fall, I thought that the Giants were just starting to hit their stride and getting things ironed out. It made for an incredible season for fans like me, watching them come from wild card status and taking it all the way to a victory in the SuperBowl. They troun...

Re: Greeting from Memphis, TN

Well thanks Man, That was a really nice gesture! I think you have got the right idea with what you have described. Poor drainage is a killer! Literally! I've been anxious to try out a new idea. I am going to try a high density growing technique using hydroponic grow bags, but outside. They are 5 gal...

Re: Knock..Knock..whose there?....Armageddon.......

Wow! Okay, so maybe it's not Armageddon (yet) but my word, is it me or does it seem like the inmates are running the asylum? It feels like a full time job NOT to get caught up in all the 'stuff' that is continually shoveled out from various Governments and media outlets. The popularity of reality te...

Re: Greeting from Memphis, TN

Thank you all for the very warm welcomes! I am just now getting back on my feet after having another procedure done on my back and it sure is nice to read your greetings and remember that there are so many others who share a love of growing as much as I. :hugish: (Now, does anyone want come over and...

Re: Bokashi help

I did not find out about bokashi until late summer. I was reading a blog post where someone wrote an article about water kiefer and what a great home made pro-biotic it was. As I went about searching more about cultivating my own lactibacillus culture I stumbled upon some writings of Dr. Tuero Higa ...

Re: Greeting from Memphis, TN

Thank you SusieGee, your very kind! I just love your quote, so true on so many levels. And about Graceland... It was a nice area -back in the day- but it is not anywhere you really want to go unarmed. I always feel so bad for tourists who spend so much money to fulfill a life long dream only to find...

Re: work from home without my head exploding?

I love this thread, I stumbled across it and it led me to investigate the rest of the forum. I had a good laugh when I read it as it is a question I have asked many times in the past. Nowadays, I just concede that my head exploding is just part of life. It is easier to just accept that there is no m...

Greeting from Memphis, TN

I am a full time Father who works from home. Having read many posts here I felt at home and it seemed to be a good match for my personality. My schedule does not permit a lot of running about with social entertainments so it is a challenge to "meet" folks of a like mind. I have decided to ...

Re: New members please read

Hello to all. It looks as though I have stumbled upon a promising forum. Just as you are leery of spammers I am equally as cautious of the forums that I am associated with. My name is my reputation, a commodity that I can ill afford to squander. I am a full time Father working from home and a...
