Re: Bloody dog!!

Naww. We use the Halti, couldn't get on with the Lupi. Absolutely amazing and don't know how we'd cope without it. I definitely couldn't walk Lulu with the the boy in his pushchair before we bought one as she has collie attention problems. We had a Lulu shaped hole in our veggie patch fence last yea...

Re: Am I deficient in something?

I've not heard of a link between keratosis pilaris and vit a/omega 3, I'd been putting mine down to hormones. It developed in my teens, calmed down for years then it came back with a vengence when pregnant with my son, stayed during BFing and am now pregnant again. My arms look awful! Sunshine used...

Re: Am I deficient in something?

Do you cook things like veggie bolognaise or stews? When I was veggie I always added a teaspoon of yeast extract in with the cooking when I could. Obviously be careful with anything else you might add that has salt in. If the nail bed looks whiter than normal, it's possibly lack of iron. Do you get ...

Re: How to discipline daughter?

Sarah - I feel for you but I have all that to come ;-) I can only talk from my experience as a teen and my behavioural job, but giving responsibility, some adulthood, goes a long way. Like Ellendra suggested, I did some volunteer work as a teen on a rescue farm. That was awesome, because it was some...

Re: Moby carrier

The video Demi posted is using a Didymous woven wrap. That would be quite secure, but the Moby would give too much around the top of the child that way. There was a video highlighting the dangers of back carrying with Moby but it seems to have been removed.

Re: Moby carrier

I'm afraid it doesn't really matter how you tie the Moby, it's stretchy enough that baby reaching for something, leaning back or just having a particularly wriggly day can end up with them falling out. I use a Mei Tai, I've not tried the woven wrap I have as I don't trust Dexter to stay still long e...

Re: Having babies

I'd think about how old your youngest will be when the next one could be born. Having 3 children is lovely!! It's hard work, but there's a decent age gap between my elder two and my youngest (Mine are 8, 6 and 20 months) so the girls are old enough to entertain the boy to give me a bit of a break! T...

Re: Growing in Greenhouses

I've been giving my toms a bit of a gentle shake, worked with my indoor toms last year and seems to be working with my greenhouse lot.

Re: The Pig Idea

Yep, it's illegal here, to stop the spread of disease because meat may be dealt with in the same kitchen. You can be jailed for up to 2 years, according to DEFRA.

If you peel your spuds in the back garden, that's fine.

Huh, you may well be right. I know the US swim right way up, unlike the UK ones. Some kind of diving beetle?
