Re: Climbing beans didn't

Mine stayed about 12" tall - also T&M. Didn`t even look like trying. All the other beans on the same 12`long trellis ( a mix of scarlet runners and climbing french) have done well.

Re: Seeds in raspberry jam

"I've just made raspberry jam for the first time ever - the set is great and it tastes fantastic but why is it so much more seedy than bought jam?"

Could it be that there is more actual fruit in home made (hence more seeds)?

Re: Broad beans

Been eating the small beans from about 3 weeks ago but got a bit fed up with them to be honest.

I`ll have a bit of a rest from them while the remaining pods get full sized.

Bacon Good!!

Re: Bird of Prey

We seem to have a good population around here - one of my best viewings was in the garden - it came over the roof , dived straight down the side of the house to about 3 ft and came tearing down the path towards me. It turned at the last moment to get past me before swooping up and over the fence. Am...

Re: Early spuds are in

Mine have been in for about a fortnight now - under a thick mulch in a big cloche. I`m experimenting with a bit of a no dig approach this year so I just cut down the green manure (rye) in late jan. and covered it up with newspaper. Covered the whole lot with weed fabric and left it with the cloche o...

St.Georges Mushrooms + other stuff

Was great to find a small crop today in one of their usual spots round here. Quite early in my experience and it`s been quite dry too.

Ramsoms abounding, and was pleased to find some hop shoots up too.

Hi From Milton Keynes

Hi All

Been lurking a while to get a feel for the place and you all seem a like minded bunch of folks!

Keen gardener and forager (it`s quite urban but there`s an amazing amount of stuff around if you know what you`re after).

Looking forward to getting to know you all.
