Re: Honey Contamination
In Sweden you can by "County Honey" in all foodstores, which has been produced by local small-scale (relatively) honey producers. For example, if I want to keep hives and sell my honey, I can sell them to the national beekeeping organization which then sells the county honey. The bad thing...

Re: A Decent Annual Salary
I've lived on €200 per month... Paying for rent, internet, phone, and beer =). Food was dumpstered, any needed purchases we shared (like onions, salt, spices). And then we went travelling! Hitchhiking, couchsurfing, living in squats that we snooped out, dumpsterdiving. We payed for two airplane ride...

Re: soya
I like oatmilk the best, since it can be produced locally (soy and rice and almonds have to be imported, they don't grow in Sweden), and it is also easy to make yourself!
1:1 or 1:2 of oats:water, mix, let sit overnight, stir, sieve =). You can add a little oil for a richer flavour.

Re: Soap Nuts - tried and tested - and verdicts?
Soapnuts is the only detergent I can use without getting rashes =). Been "addicted" for 3 years now! I use vinegar in the rinse for whites and undies. Also tried for dishwasher (great), handwashing (boil with water first, works fine), shampoo (same as for handwash but too harsh for my hair).

Hello from northern Sweden =)!
Hey, found this forum by googling polytunnels! In just a couple of weeks my boyfriend and I are moving to the ol' family farm, to try to revive it and start living more self-sufficiently. The first project is to clean up the old cow barn to keep rabbits. I breed Netherland Dwarfs for show, but in fe...
