Re: What brought you here?

I was trying to identify a couple of antique demi-johns via Google.
Ended up here, stumbled upon Winemaking 1,2 and 3 by MKG and decided to register.

I like the atmosphere here, and what a relief it is after modding an american gaming forum for a year.

Re: What have you got brewing at the moment

Just started a 15 litre batch of Japanese knotweed and melon wine.

I'm very curious how this will turn out.

@ Richierobins...something like this?

Took the pic in a Belgian restaurant, only because Beukflaap sounds utterly hilarious in Dutch.
(And a couple of pints probably helped too... :drunken: )

Re: What are we all having for dinner?

Here's one I'd like to share,it turned out great! A simple summery salad, great with any spicy dish as a refreshing counterpart. Equal amounts of finely sliced iceberg lettuce, honey melon and cucumber. A drizzle of lemon juice, hint of black pepper and a generous amount of freshly chopped thyme. Aye,i...

Re: What a strange year ...

We're having pretty much the same issues,aphid-wise.
Even had those woolly ones on our buxus hedge, never seen those before.
Still, things will even out in the long run I guess...

Re: Rosemary tea

This link got me curious,so tonigt I brewed up a cuppa. As I'm a firm believer in strong tea I chopped up two fresh sprigs. ...Not the brightest of idea's,on hindsight the amount would probably equal a heaped tablespoon. Not bad, but probably more usefull as a mouthwash for gum infections. A...

Re: How do I get rid of a patch of bamboo?

Yup,same idea as my copper and vinegar ''therapy'',just a lot more concentrated. You can knock up a batch of that stuff with some copper rods and a car battery. If you add a sulphur-based (80%) fungicide to the vinegar the copper corrodes a lot faster. But nickin' it is also an option... :pirate: :l...
