Hello and Welcome. :thumbleft:
I have an ongoing slug problem here too, I hear they like Hostas. My kids are grossed out at the sight of them.
Enjoy your stay.

Thanks all for the help. I had it covered with plastic wrap with a small hole in the wrap. I've since drilled a hole in the lid and put in a cotton ball, and put the lid on. When I get a chance I'll make a trip to the local homebrew shop and get a proper lock. From what I've read, some people leave ...

Homemade Fermentation Locks?

Hiya, I'm new to homebrewing and have a few questions. I've read that I need a fermentation lock to prevent bugs and bacteria from entering "my brew" and that carbon dioxide needs to escape. There seems to be some discussion as when the lock needs to be put in place, immediately or maybe three days ...

Re: Anyone here hunt?

I don't yet but I'm thinking of starting it up. Mainly for rabbits, maybe some deer as well. If I'm successful I'd like to try and can meat and make jerky. First I'd have to take a hunters safety course (required by law in the US) and then get my license.

Hi from New York

Hello all, I'm from a small town in New York, USA. I've been reading through the forums here the last few days and have really enjoyed the website overall. My wife and I are from farming families and are interested in rediscovering the meaning of "seflsufficientish"ness. After reading through the fo...
