Re: Is this a good thing?
Actually its Yerma, as in your-ma. I'm still around, tend to just read most days and not post. It's the only way to find out what 'the boys' are up to! Not really, they do keep in touch. Seriously, I do think this is a useful thread, if used properly, where people's opinions are respected. Th...

Re: How do I give a talk to Schoolchildren
Depends what you've been asked to talk about, really. 8-11 year olds-how many? A small group, a class of 30+ or larger? That can affect your approach. Have a word with the teacher before you prepare. If the subject is something you are passionate about, they will respond to that. If you begin with a ...

Re: Isher 4th Birthday -Win Prizes - Just give us a tip
Tip Waste not...always use the very last drops - not just talking about wine! For example, if you have bought things like tomato sauce, when it is getting to the end, leave the bottle inverted so that every last drop is used. A small amount of vinegar shaken in the bottle can also mean none is waste...

Re: My Cycle tour (Bristol to Scotland) can I stay at yours?
Its been great watching Andy's progress on the forum, and to understand what a wonderful community you ishers are. We have been far less worried about him knowing he was being so well looked after. And well done Andy! We knew you'd stick to it (the bike ride not the saddle...). Yer Ma & Pa.

Re: My Cycle tour (Bristol to Scotland) can I stay at yours?
Hi Andy Catching up on the forum after our trip to Scotland, I see you're staying with us on Oct 22nd as part of your Great North Bikathon. You're not afraid that we'll be saying things like 'have you got your thermals on, spare bike parts, lights, reflective clothing, a clean hanky...you know the w...

Re: Tomato Theft
We've added a banana to a drawer full of unripe tomatoes before now, it works very well. Although its best not to forget to look occasionally!
Ours seem to be ripening reasonably well now, those that aren't blighted that is.
