Re: HELP - what can I plant now?

Save your eggs shells - crush them and sprinkle around the base of the beetroots (or anything snails attack). They don't like crawling over the sharp edges.. Thanks Jules - I had tried that - but the smell of egg was so tempting that my cairn terriers went frantic to get the shells - and dug up all...

Lady's mantle - tough with a soft side - prefers the shade - and manages to thrive in many different places.
(And a bl**dy nuisance at times)

Re: ... cut my own hair?

My elder daughter cut my OH's hair yesterday with the dog trimmer on its No4 setting - Looks just the same as his normal cut - costing £7 ( Guy prices)
I have short hair - and I really object to paying a minimum of £25! :(

Re: HELP - what can I plant now?

Thanks everyone - that's a bit more encouraging! As for the snails - the plants weren't getting high emough for copper rings - they are just being razed overnight - even the bit of radish which showed above soil level were eaten :( I've taken to batting the wee b*gg*rs into the sea with an ...

HELP - what can I plant now?

OK - I was too lazy at the beginning of the year to really plant much. I have herbs and tatties ok - but the snails ate my seedling beetroots and cabbages and radishes. (We're having a plague this year!) So - what can I plant now! For autumn/winter? Its been warm recently - and winter is not usually...

Re: Daft quotes from being ish

I'm weird - I must be as I have been told so many a time! Was very proud of my 17 year old daughter the other day - she picks up gorgeous - often classic clothing from vintage and charity shops (being a size 8 helps). She wore a 1930s evening/night gown to the prom which we'd picked up on a 'Charity...

Re: Maybe more for the ladies!!

I'm with Graye - its not the housewife - its the 'little' - defo condescending - but she's probably envious.
Doesn't matter what anyone else thinks - are you happy? you always sound it in your postings.
Took me years to stop trying to be what other folk wanted - you be who you want.
