Re: Should I shut the hens up?

One of our ex-batts has the same problems. I'm toying with buying her a "chicken saddle" (I know I should make one really but I have no time at the moment!) to help protect her back whilst she recovers/regrows all her back feathers. She had started growing them lovely but same thing - one ...

Re: the ninjascarecrows say hi!!!!!

Welcome aboard! I'd highly recommend hens - we rescued 4 ex-battery chucks (re-charges!) last month and are already getting 4 eggs a day! We could probably make scrambled eggs for the army too (but prefer to share them with family & neighbours!).

Interesting concept. Nightmare website to navigate - perhaps they should think of redefining that?

Re: Advice on what to do about Sea Shepherd talk

Its Dan Bebawi from Nottingham who is on Japan's arrest warrant now :(

Please don't cancel the talk. What is legal in one country is not in another. No one was injured and who are we to judge what they did as wrong? Give the guy a chance to talk.

Re: Does anyone else ever feel like this about their toddler?

I would definitely try baby signing with him. That way he has more control over his situation and will be able to communicate with you better. I'm quite tired right now but I have had experience of my eldest son who was autistic (but very huggy & affectionate) who had a lot of tantrums because h...

Hi and welcome. I know my other half would be interested in the concept of ethical pc. He's an IT engineer for a small family business (fairly ethical I hope!).

Re: Hedgehog

The RSPCA aren't interested in wildlife. It sounds like Ina is doing a great job with him so far. I have visited a couple of hedgehog rescue centres across the country (Mrs Tiggywinkles run by the fantastic Les Stocker & a super little one in Lincolnshire). I have a book somewhere called The Com...

Re: Hello from Suffolk

Hi Kate

Welcome to Ish. Whereabouts in Suffolk are you? I was born in Ipswich and lived there for first 12 years of my life. Much of my family are still there and I WWOOF at a farm near Hadleigh from time to time.

Hi there! I'm in Notts too. We have rescued hens for eggs, rescued rabbits & guinea pigs (for poop I suppose!), a rescued lurcher (for guarding duties, hahahaha - he's partially blind & deaf now!) and veggies in the garden for food. I'm planning a meet up here in October, hope you'll conside...

Re: Countdown to Selfsufficientish Day August 13th.

Well I had a whole day's worth of sewing planned - altering some clothes to make them funky for us 3 for Shambala festival, making more wee wipes and mending a pillow BUT I now have to trek over to Sheffield in the pouring rain on public transport (bus, then tram, then train, then bus) with a very c...

Re: Thought you might like these pics

We went on a boat trip out into the Wash when we were holidaying in North Norfolk in early April and I got some lovely photos of the seals there. Would love to see the ones in Lincolnshire too. Your photos are beautiful. Have you thought of entering http://www.bbc.co.uk/sn/tvradio/programmes/country...
