Re: Not new...
Thanks all, its good to be back :)
I have a (small) garden now, and am going to be experimenting with pallet growing, among other things, plus keeping bees, and should have my first allotment within the next month or so :D Next on the list might be chickens! :)

Siop y Bobl
Hey :) I just wanted to let people know (especially those in the Cardiff, Wales area) about a project I'm involved in called Siop y Bobl (The Shop of the People). Inspired by the likes of People's Supermarket, we aim to be opening a store by the end of the year in order to sell ethical and sustainab...

Re: Insence as a form of air freshener
An excellent incense company is The Mother's India Fragrances. They're Fair Trade and completely herbal, fairly priced (around £2 for a pack of 20 sticks) and come in a wide range of 'flavours' which are strong but not overpowering. I first bought some on holiday in Cornwall last year and took some ...

Re: What wild foods are about in your neck of the woods
Today, on an unsuccessful hunt for some unmentionable mushrooms, I discovered blackberries, haws, sloes, hazelnuts, rowanberries, a multitude of apples, and the back of my hand discovered some rather sneaky nettles :s There are probably more forageables there, I'm just not very up on wild foods :) I...

Re: Weeds underneath a bird feeder
Let them grow! Sounds like your gravel patch could do with a touch of green ;)
When they flower they should encourage a few bees and butterflies and whatnot, and when they go to seed it'll be a bit more bird food :)

Re: How do I loose my beer belly
I'm a little late to this (comes of hardly being online ever) but I might still be able to help :) Of course, as most have said, its about both diet and exercise. So, diet. I tend to follow the Food Doctor principles, they're all about keeping your blood sugar levels on an even keel, which keeps you...

Selling Home-made Toiletries.
I'm looking for a little advice. A friend of mine runs a shop in town and wants to start selling her own line of herbal/natural toiletries and has asked me to help out. Now I know there are all kinds of legal requirements but am unsure as to what they are exactly. I was wondering if someone could po...

I saw this book-or a very similar one-in the book shop just last week, I was sorely tempted to get it. Now I know I should ;-)

Re: Quinoa recipes...tried and tested
Soya beans rock, I use them instead of peas :-) But now to quinoa... This isn't a recipe in the traditional sense, but its delicious anyway. Quinoa-Stuffed Squash You'll need some squashes-I've used butternut and baby pumpkin types with success Quinoa, cooked in vegetable stock and fried in with oni...

Re: Rennet and sell-by/expiry dates.
I completely agree on the whole best before thing generally, like I say, I was just worried it'd be too old to be effective.
Thanks benner btw :-)
