Re: Cat gravy

yep, I definitely dont like buying pouches of cat food, they only contain enough food for one meal and you're left with all that plastic to throw away! I haven't thought about getting freebies or offcuts from the butcher, but I find that cats are fussier than dogs, so not sure if they'd turn their n...

Re: Cat gravy

I had to click on this as the title made me think you were going to ask for recipes for cooking cats :( our vets told us that tinned cat food is mostly made up of water and that cats get much more goodness from a good brand of dry cat food. ours eat the jelly cat food and Royal Canin dried food, if ...

Re: People in Bristol (or nearby) come for coffee

this sounds great, I live in Bristol, I will pop in sometime! I am quite an active member of the online crafting community in the UK so I will try and spread the word in blogland and generate some publicity for you amongst my contacts. I also contribute to a magazine called ukhandmade http://ukhandm...

Re: Redbush: natural eco friendly slug and snail deterrant

I've heard other people say that hair clippings are good, anything to dry the slugs up! I never have any luck with egg shells, doesn't seem to stop them at all. you might be right about the frog. The first year we moved into this house the people next door had two ponds, they had so many frogs, you ...

Re: recycled paper gift bows, perfect for Christmas

like I say on my blog, mine are a bit different to the ones on the tutorial, but I still think they look nice :) if anyone has a go at making the bows, perhaps they could share the photos here, any tips on how to make them look more professional would be good, I think the strips I used weren't 'fat'...

all based in the UK, so don't have to fly it half way around the world :)

Re: washing powder.... different smell?!

some good ideas here, not thought of adding essential oil to the actual wash

I do mix 6-10 drops into the water I use in the iron which makes the clothes smell nice and makes me feel relaxed after inhaling the steam from the iron, which can't be a bad side-benefit when doing the ironing ;)

Re: BRISTOL GREEN STORE needs producers

We had a stall at the Create Festive Fayre and I spotted your stand, I picked up a leaflet and I made a mental note to come and visit your shop and to find out if you would be interested in stocking some of our products! all of our products are practical and hardwearing, we make bags, belts, peg bag...

interesting article, I made a pledge at the new year that i wouldn't buy anymore new clothes in 2008, so far I've stuck to it, but I have bought some stuff from charity shops. Increasingly you see clothes that are practically unworn. Unfortunately it's not just charity shops that are guilty of waste...

My lettuce patch is covered with slug pubs- I call it slug-fest  nice festival, where all attendees drown :) I used egg shells this year and it didn't work for my plants, the little sods ate all my chilli seedlings and basil seedlings I have put plastic bottles with tops and bottoms cut of...

we always try to plan what we are going to eat over the next 4-5 days and buy what we need for those meals, and I never go shopping without a shopping list and really try to stick to the list :) also, a good tip is to not go shopping when you are hungry as you are likely to buy too much! also, i kno...
