Re: Anyone here harvesting their own rabbits?
Another thing I must also do is check what they eat and make sure I have seed to grow most of their food, the last time I kept rabbits they were pampered Angoras and apart from an occasional carrot they turned up their fluffy noses at anything other than pellets. My boyfriend has a dwarf rabb...

Re: Basic Manners
 I am seen as too polite by the French... They are as keen on please and thank you (at least, in the village we live in) as anyone else, greeting your neighbours and anyone else you recognise, etc, but when it comes to asking for things in shops, I always say please and thank you to excess in t...

Re: what would you do?!
If the store manager cared, he or she would have already done something (if The Public is falling over, the staff are - trust me!). Same goes for head office I'm afraid, I would write to your local council health and safety bods. Glad it wasn't worse, looking forward to seeing your post about the fu...

Re: Hair Care (Moreover how to tame annoying hair)?
Ha! I am another one with greasy roots and dry ends, my hair is curly too. I must admit, I use a brush, but it is a hand-crafted Italian made anti-static one. But on wet hair, I only comb. Here are my ideas... 1. Ionising hairdryers are brilliant. I have one with a special attachment that pulls on y...

Re: So who manages without TV?
I actually have access to a telly, but I don't watch it. I couldn't afford one last year (studenting), and I haven't really missed it since. I only spend up to 10h a week online on my laptop, too! That said, the FBF downloads series that I watch chez lui at the weekends, and I buy the DVDs of anythi...

Re: Is that English?
I grew up using the second person singulars too (thee, thou, thine etc) in Nottinghamshire. Most languages use such pronouns, french, spanish, itallian etc. It is actually much easier to work out what people are saying if we use them. I miss 'one' ie 'if one were to go shopping' rather than 'if you...

My poor mum always thought that a wazz was something much ruder... She was relieved when I explained it is only a piddle!

Re: 101 non-swear words
I bet they still know some English swear words though. When I lived in The Netherlands 20 odd years ago the schoolchildren across the road from our home seemed to be extremely well versed in obscenities, usually delivered in an American accent! good old tv! Yeah, I'd have thunk so too, but it...

Re: Online purchases
Has anyone used the superstore online which claims to be ethical.com? I have used them very infrequently in the past for bulky goods: ecover and such. I took advantage of a free delivery code they sent me recently but the goods took 8 days to arrive, despite being shown on the website as 'in stock ...

Hi Helsbells, a good way to get three cups in is to make up a pot in the morning and take it to work in a flask. I loved my flask when I was out and about - so handy... Hi Brij, yeah you can dry them - fresh is delish but, as you say, they're starting to go over to seed now. I'm having probs gettin...

Re: Mutant Caterpillar in my Garden!
Ha! I'm a night-time reader, and when I was in Southampton, I found a hawk moth in my room. It was a big blighter, too, with ruddy stripes across its body. Then an elephant hawk moth tried to eat me this summer when I was in Cambridgeshire. The cat was delighted, but I was not pleased when the resid...
