I've just been looking that up, as it's far from clear. Methi is actually ANY part of the fenugreek plant. MaP's recipe states curry leaves, but just methi for the fenugreek, so I suspect he means fenugreek powder or seeds. Then again, all forms of fenugreek taste the same to me, so maybe it doesn't...

Re: Onions

Onions go to seed because it's too hot, too cold, too wet, too dry, a day with a 'y' in it, excess solar radiation, ill-fated horoscopes, the Russians, aliens, elves, bad vibes, soil too sandy, soil too clay-y, and the coming apocalypse. Avoid all of those and you'll have no problem.

Re: Onions

Oh no he isn't! I may now be restricted in activity, but I still grow a lot of rhubarb, the overwintered garlic was a triumph, the chillis are growing nicely and a host of pot herbs are beavering away like good 'uns. Oh - and the runner beans are about to be inserted into the very tall tubs just out...

Re: Turnip wine ( and others)

It's what I've always wanted too, Bernard. It sounds well worthwhile so, despite my earlier misgivings, I think I may give this one a go.

Well, we're still waiting for Bernard's taste test. It's still a possibility that it was truly wonderful and Bernard is whooping it up in Nirvana.

Re: No Bees?

Well, I hate to go against the general trend, but we have loads of bees already - particularly very large and noisy bumble bees. There's also lots of stuff flowering, so they seem happy.

Re: Curiosity/Armageddon

I've though about this for a while. I think I'd carry on doing exactly what I'm doing, not altering a thing. I think I'm probably more contented now than ever before - why change my ways?
