Re: I think we are getting there...
But all in all I think we might be getting somewhere with this crazy project! “Of course I'm crazy, but that doesn't mean I'm wrong.” - Robert Anton Wilson. It sounds like a great project! And I can imagine it's a real struggle at times... but it's those moments of realisation and wonder that make ...

Re: Household carbon must be reduced to allow more flights??????
It's all become about the Carbon Economy these days. It's bonkers! most of the policies that seem to be happening regard the ability for government and multinationals to trade "carbon credits" rather than actually do anything that would be effective.

Re: Cycle to work
I cycle 7 miles each way to work - it's not bad at all, I've been doing this for about a year and a half now, my work mates think I am bonkers (especially when it is raining / or winter) - but once you get into it it's totally fine. Re: Killer of weeds
"non-toxic to the environment, but unpleasant for dandelions" Dandelions are a "weed" that has some good uses !! the leaves for green salads, the root for making drinks (two name a few) most weeds are just things in the wrong place at the wrong time  But seriously t...

Re: woodburner
I normally use mine to boil water, I have a small pan that fits nicely on to the top of the stove (my flue comes directly out of the top of my stove so means I have limited surface area)
But I can get it too boil the water very easily, as the stove can kick out some serious heat.

Re: pidgeon
can anyone tell me how long game birds have to 'hang' for. As you can see I am a novice at this sort of thing....... this is totally a matter of taste. Personally I don't like my game hung for too long as I don't like a too "gamey" taste. I think the longest for me (for a pheasant) is abo...

hello, I plan on doing this, I've recently moved to living on the water, and there are loads of Signal Crayfish near where I moor. seeing as I will regularly be at my mooring, then I plan to catch them on a regular basis. interesting reading the report about increasing the population if the larger c...
