Re: Aquaponics?

Hi mamos What is the update of your efforts with Aquaponics. What problems did you face trying to get IBC's there are so many in the UK at cheap prices. Here in France it is much harder but one has to travel up north to get them cheap 10€ to 80€ With an IBC in the ground you do have the ability to k...

Re: Sweetcorn

Maybe the problem here in France is that it is in their mind that Mais or corn on the cob is for animals and there is an association there they may not like, which is why it is hard to purchase where I live in the Centre. We have a deluge of rain at the moment and if it does not stop we will be unab...

Re: Sweetcorn

Today 1.00 USD= 0.897783 EUR or 1.00 USD =0.682860 GBP , however we have to be careful which variety as they vary quite a bit, but that is cheap for sure.

Re: Can I eat a chicken dead from unknown cause?

The same could apply to Road Kill which the French love. Was it killed because it was too slow through illness or just bad luck !

Re: Raped and no right to choose...

This sounds as if a ten year old in Ireland was to become pregnant the government would force her to continue with the birth, is that correct ?

Re: Sweetcorn

it's strange because after I bought them (Vilmorin a well known company here in France) I thought this cannot be right but then upon further investigation it would seem that the French do not grow very much. Other sources I looked at also were on the high side including I might add America. I got so...

Re: Grapes in a polytunnel?

The new grapes in the Tunnel I hope to be in September time, but cannot be certain, the grapes in the vineyard are about the sept time depending on weather. It's hard for me as a none expert to say what kind of grapes are in the vineyard, I know it was established in 1923, one is a Pinot for sure, b...

Re: Grapes in a polytunnel?

I tend to keep the doors open unless I know its going to be below 10, because whilst it's 10 outside it is always that much hotter inside. The reason I close my tunnels is not the temperature but the wind. We have had gale force winds every week or two throughout this so called summer, and I don't ...

Re: Grapes in a polytunnel?

Could have been a problem with the roots too short, may have needed some shade to begin with and of course some grapes just don't like certain climates, but the PT should have offset that problem. keep trying get some good stock in, I used http://victoriananursery.co.uk/ they have a good selection. ...

Re: Grapes in a polytunnel?

Even though it would seem we have nicked all your :sunny: sun 31 here today and 42 ish in the tunnel, I tend to keep the doors open unless I know its going to be below 10, because whilst it's 10 outside it is always that much hotter inside. I have read some very conflicting notes on humidity some sa...

Re: Grapes in a polytunnel?

I am sure that before the days when Grapes were shipped into the UK all those that could, grew Grapes for eating inside large Greenhouse, so I believe the practice was quite normal, So why not in a pollytunnel, yes they are humid if the doors are closed but then in the summer who would close the doo...
